Important Mathematics Topics for JEE Mains Exam
Mathematics is one of the most crucial subjects a candidate must deal with when studying for technical and extremely competitive exams like JEE Main. Despite the fact that Maths, Chemistry, and Physics all have the same weighting in the exam, Mathematics has an advantage over the others because it is the decisive element at the end.
Mathematics is responsible for the foundations of physics and chemistry. Quadratic equations, differential equations, and calculus are used in almost all numerical problems in physics and chemistry.
The IIT JEE Maths Syllabus contains an excellent balance of difficult and easy topics. Permutations and combinations, Significant Figures, trigonometry, quadratic equations, probability, coordinate geometry, and differential calculus are some of the topics that are simple to understand during exam preparation.
The only way to crack the JEE Mains exam is to put in a lot of effort and practice. We live in an era where multiple-choice questions (MCQs) assess not just an applicant’s knowledge but also their aptitude.
The most important thing while preparing for a competitive examination is having clear basics and giving more time and effort to topics that are important and carry high weightage in the exam.
On that note, let’s discuss some of the important topics from where you can expect the most number of questions in the JEE Mains exam.
No other topic compares to Algebra in terms of ease of learning and capacity to earn high marks in the JEE Exam. The applicants must develop an ability to calculate fast plus a clear understanding of their fundamental concepts.
Some of the important areas in algebra that an applicant should cover include Number Systems, Type of Number Systems, and Conversions such as Binary to Decimal Conversion, Quadratic Equations, Complex Numbers, Sets, Relations, and Functions, Permutation and Combination, Progressions and Series, Matrices and Determinants.
Calculus is one of the largest portions of modern mathematics and is one of the most important maths topics for IIT JEE preparation. It is divided into two sections i.e., Differential and Integral Calculus.
Calculus is concerned with the study of operations and their application to the solution of equations. In the JEE Maths part, problems with a theoretical foundation as well as problems with an application-based foundation appear in equal numbers.
While students must on Limits and Continuity, Differentiation and Application of Derivatives in Differential Calculus, in Integral Calculus- Indefinite Integral, Definite Integral and Area under Curves are few sub-topics that need extra attention.
Coordinate geometry is another important topic of the math section of JEE Exams. Other entrance exams, such as IIT JEE, consider it to be one of the most scoreable subjects, and it is the analysis of geometrical shape in its most basic sense. This is also one of the few topics where you can get a perfect score.
Though most math problems revolve around the topics of straight lines and circles, students should also familiarise themselves with parabola, hyperbola, and ellipse in case they are asked in the exam. When these sections are combined, they contribute a large number of questions to the JEE exam.
Trigonometry is an important branch of mathematics in the IIT JEE test. Two fundamental aspects of trigonometry are trigonometric ratios and trigonometric functions. To pass the exam, candidates must have a firm grasp of the principles of trigonometry, as many competitive exams include multiple questions on this subject.
The relationship between the sides and angles of a triangle is investigated by the branch of trigonometry. Trigonometric functions are the foundation of many disciplines of technology and science. The IIT JEE Trigonometry challenges cover everything from trigonometry fundamentals to trigonometry applications.
